Oslo, Norway, October 9, 2026: Photocure ASA (OSE: PHO), the Bladder Cancer Company, announces the publication of a new approach to outcome modeling in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer that undergo a blue light cystoscopy (BLC®) in the peer-reviewed Urology Practice this week.

An abstract of this study was first presented at the AUA Congress in 2025. The article titled “Predicting Recurrence and Progression in Contemporary Patients with NMIBC Undergoing Blue Light Cystoscopy-Aided Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor” by Boris Gershman, Harvard University, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, describes predictive models for patients undergoing BLC, using data from Photocure’s patient registry in the U.S.

Although blue light cystoscopy (BLC) is recommended by clinical practice guidelines to reduce recurrence, predictive models for patients undergoing BLC are lacking. The authors developed predictive models for recurrence and progression in patients treated with BLC-TURBT using 1040 BLC Registry patients. Tumor stage was Ta in 578 (56%), T1 in 166 (16%), and pure CIS in 190 (18%) patients. On multivariable analysis, HGTa (HR 1.60) and HGT1 (HR 1.94) tumors were associated with increased risk of recurrence. HGT1 (HR 12.4), HGTa (HR 3.08), pure CIS (HR 4.51), Ta+CIS (HR 4.98), and T1+CIS (HR 7.65) tumors, as well as lymphovascular invasion (HR 3.27), were associated with increased risk of progression. In contrast, adjuvant BCG was associated with decreased risk of progression (HR 0.40).

The impact of the data is that these models reflect contemporary treatment standards and can inform personalized, risk-adapted management of NMIBC. Dr. Boris Gershman, principal investigator of the study, commented: "This study is another example of how the BLC with Cysview Registry can generate real-world evidence on NMIBC to improve prediction and guide management of patients with bladder cancer."
